Parade Floats

Not the best photos, but these are examples of the floats that are carried through the city streets. They are massive and weigh a ton. Teams of 40 men take turns carrying the floats on their neck/backs. It is a true labor of love, not to mention an honor, as these guys will work all night long.

In a procession there are always two floats, first Jesus followed by a band, more Nazarenos and finally Mary brings up the rear. The procession can take several hours.

  1. A ton? That's really impressive! I have never seen floats that big. They are very artistic and well decorated.
