The Provo City Center Temple has a fascinating story. Originally built in 1898, the Provo Tabernacle functioned as a church building hosting cultural events and Sunday worship services. In 2010, horrified residents watched as the 100+year old building caught fire and burned so completely that only the outer walls remained.  A stunned community mourned the loss of this historic building and waited for it's fait.

In 2010, at General Conference, the LDS church announced it would rebuild the tabernacle into a temple. A pleasing audible AWWW was heard through out the crowd. The temple was dedicated in March of this year, so this was my first opportunity to visit. It is true to its Victorian roots and gorgeous inside and out!
